Waverley beach is a scenic destination with its tall
cliffs, caves and black sand. However the hole in the rock in the middle
two pictures has now collapsed. A good walk can be had from Waverley beach to the Waitotara river mouth, especially if you duck inland through Hawken's lagoon area as you near the river mouth.
