Puteore Hut, along with Tahupo Hut, is on the only remaining track between
the Matemateaonga walkway and the Waitotara River valley road. This forest service hut was replaced at the same time as Tahupo, somehow managing to jump Pokeka in the maintenance queue. It was then replaced with a new hut, but Pokeka was removed. Clever work DoC.
